2020-05-26 - This instrument was moved circa 1912 to St. Barnabas Anglican Church, St. Catharines, when a new Karn-Morris organ was installed at St. George's Church. At St. Barnabas Church the Hook & Hastings Organ was rebuilt and electrified by the T. Eaton Organ Co. circa 1948, and subsequently rebuilt by Pole & Kingham. -Andrew Henderson

2024-01-17 - From *The Spectator* (Hamilton, ON, October 30, 1878): "The organ is from the firm of E. and G. G. Hook & Hastings, of Boston. This beautiful instrument is enclosed in a cherry case of Centennial design. The front pipes, of which there are two sets (one facing the main entrance to the church and the other the opposite transept), are decorated in colors and gold to correspond with the other painting in the church and showing great taste of the designer, as different to the usual gaudy ornamentation of organ pipes. The round rich tones of the diapason, the delicate tones of the dulciana, with the string of the viola and violina, and last but not least the tones of the melodia, by which, alone, the organs from this firm can be distinguished from all others, all blend so as to form the most beautiful harmony." -Andrew Henderson
