2017-09-04 - The history on the church website says that the church was destroyed in the Great Atlanta Fire of May 21, 1917, when nearly 2,000 buildings were destroyed; it would seem that the Pilcher was a casualty, as well; they then relocated in 1922 to Boulevard at Ponce de Leon; in 1963 the first service was held at the present location on Sheridan Road NE. The famous Scottish preacher, Peter Marshall, served Westminster in the 1930's; the Convocation of Sessions held here in 1973 led to the founding of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). -Database Manager
