2022-05-29 - This Pilcher was replaced in the Lucas Theatre by a new 3-manual 11-rank WurliTzer in 1925. The Pilcher was divided and half went to Calvary Baptist Temple in Savannah and the remainder to Asbury UMC. Calvary's sanctuary was remodeled extensively in 1947, and the Pilcher was replaced by a new Hammond CV. The Pilcher may have been discarded, as several people remember seeing the pipes spread out on the lawn during the remodeling process. It was badly proned to ciphering and nobody lamented its removal in 1947. Organists that played the Pilcher were Mrs. Robert E. (Birdie) Fennell and Mrs. Emma Driggers Futrell. No info available on the Asbury UMC portion of the Pilcher. -Thomas Alderman
