2014-09-05 - Updated through online information from Timothy E. Conyers. -- In 1957, due to a national merger of several denominations, this congregation became part of the United Church of Christ. They remained at this location until 1972, when the building was sold to Womack Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, a black congregation. The pipe organ was removed at the time of the sale of the building and remained in storage for nearly two years, until a new building could be constructed in Carmel, Indiana, The congregation was renamed St. Peter's United Church of Christ and moved into its new church building in November 1974. The pipe organ was placed into this facility. -Database Manager
