2008-07-31 - Updated through on-line information from Timothy Tikker. -- We presume the organ originally had mechanical key and stop action and slider chests. A new electro-pneumatic console and pitman electro-pneumatic chests and action were installed by Casavant Freres Limitee of Sainte-Hyacinthe, Quebec in 1947; they also replaced the wind system. It appears that no tonal changes were made at that time, except that an 8' Vox humana was added to the Swell, the Pedal 16' open Diapason was extended to 8', and Pedal 16' Bourdon extended to 8' and 4' (and wired to provide a 32' Resultant). The Pedal compass was extended to 32 notes, C-g', and the pedalboard is concave and radiating. The manual compass was extended to 68 notes on the chests for the sake of octave couplers; there are of course 61-note manuals at the console. -Database Manager
