2019-09-16 - One of the early twentieth-century 'skyscraper churches,' the church was housed in the lower floors of the 15-story Roger Williams Hotel, named after the Rhode Island theologian and abolitionist who started the first Baptist Church in America; the organ was replaced by an electronic in the 1990's; the hotel is now the luxury Roger Hotel New York. -Database Manager
