2022-04-09 - The Pilcher retained a number of ranks from the existing 1914 Votteler-Holtkamp Sparling Nr. 1243; including the Sunday School auditorium of the Akron-plan building, total seating was around 700; the building was destroyed by fire in 1964; they moved into a new facility at a new location in 1968; noted choral composer John Ness Beck served was music director off and on from the 1950s to 1970s; his most popular anthem, "Canticle of Praise," was composed for the church's 70th aniversary in 1960. -Jeff Scofield
