Manuals had 61 note compass; pedals had 32 note compass. I believe there were two pistons for the Great and two for the Swell; these could not be changed without going into the mechanical area of the organ. There was a crescendo pedal. Pipes of the Great Open Diapason 8' are used in the facade. This organ was altered in the 1960's, and is still in use by the congregation. My father, Rev. J. Stuart Hepler, was pastor of this church from 1968-1982, and I did much of my early practice on this instrument. Miss Ruth Bristow (1892-1981) was organist from 1923 (when the organ was installed) until 1973 or 1974. She was recognized in 1973 for her fifty years of service, and had a stroke which rendered her incapable of playing several months later. [Received from Jim Hepler 2013-02-25.]
