2005-07-18 - Identified through on-line information from James R. Stettner. -- The organ was installed primarily under the basement steps. The "console" was two used manuals mounted on some support boards. The chests were mahogany, Kilgen-style unit chests ordered from Balcom and Vaughan, with each rank being on one independent chest. The pipework was Stinkens ordered through Balcom and Vaughan. The stop control was a black box over the Swell keys with rows and rows of toggle switches. The pitches were labeled across the top, and the ranks were labeled down the left side. Ranks were 4' Prinzipal, 8' Spitz Gamba, 16' Gedeckt, and 8' Krummhorn. The bottom octave of the 16' Gedeckt were originally open wood "French Horn" Kimball pipes, now stoppered and revoiced. -Database Manager

PIPE SUMMARY Prinzipal...............73 pipes Gedeckt.................85 pipes Spitz Gamba.............85 pipes Krummhorn...............61 pipes NOTES The organ was a hoby project for Mr. Wescott. Pipework was purchased from and thru Balcom and Vaughan. Each rank was on its own Balcom and Vaughan, Kilgen-style E-P unit chest. The 16' wood extension of the metal Gedeckt was an old Kimball open wood and slotted French Horn with the slots filled in and stoppers inserted. There was also a 16' Wurlitzer Diaphone which was intended to be a 16' bass for the Krummhorn. It was never added. There was no console, as such. A piece of plywood atop some 2x 4' provided a place to rest the two manuals. The pedalboard was positioned underneath. The bench was used and fairly ornate. It may have been Estey. The 'stops' were controlled by a small black box which had 4 horizontal rows of stainless steel toggle switches. The left side listed each of the four ranks of pipes. and over the toggles was a label for the pitches. The technology used for the switching system was one designed by Mr. Wescott himself, and which appeared in Allen organs shortly thereafter. A lawsuit ensued in which Mr. Wescott prevailed. Mr. Wescott passed away, and at the time of my visit in September 1993, Mrs. Wescott was trying to find a home for the organ. It is believed to have been broken-up for parts. [Received from James R.
