2016-01-01 - Updated through online information from Harold Gaines.
This was known as the "Roy Thornton Organ", named for the donor and organist for the First Christian Church in Clovis, NM (where I attended growing up). I took private lessons on this organ from Dr. Milton Swenson between 1978 and 1981, and although my memory is now fading, I got to know it fairly well.

The organ was salvaged from a movie theater in Amarillo, Texas according to both Mr. Thornton and Dr. Swenson; however, the name of that theater had been lost.

After being away for a few years, I returned to ENMU to visit Dr. Swenson, and he informed me that during renovations in the very early 1980's, the roof over the organ was left unprotected during a rainstorm. The rainwater managed to be, in essence, funneled into the pipes and windchests, as well as the blower and regulators.

His assessment was that the organ was entirely unsalvageable and had been scrapped. -Database Manager
2016-01-01 - Updated through online information from Harold Gaines.
A little digging in the Reuter opus list confirms that this organ was originally built for the Mission Theater in Amarillo, TX in 1926. Subsequently, in 1937, the organ was installed at the Central Street Methodist Church in Tucumcari, New Mexico. -Database Manager
