From the June 1951 issue of THE DIAPASON:

"The organ was a gift of Dr. and Mrs. William H. Barnes.
Some of the pipes of the organ in the old Congregational
Church of Evanston, a Roosevelt built in 1886, and some
of the pipes of a fairly recent Aeolian organ will be
incorporated in the new instrument. The remainder of
the pipes will be by Reuter, who will also make the new
all-electric console, windchests, relays, swell shutter
fronts, engines, etc., so that it will be a new organ
except for some extraodrinarily good old pipes."
