2024-03-16 - Updated through online information from Darren Snow: This very old church--the cornerstone was set in 1854--received a brand-new steeple in 2005, just a few months before a homeless man broke in to steal some wine and wound up setting the cathedral on fire. The shell sat roofless for three years before demolition began. A new cathedral is to be built on the site, using the existing spire and doors, plus several other salvageable items. -Jim Stettner
