2005-11-24 - Identified from the Reuter Opus List, provided by Chris Leaver, Reuter Organ Co., November, 2005. -Database Manager

2012-10-07 - Updated through online information from Jeff Scofield. -- This was a rebuild of the church's third-hand 1910 Pilcher that was enlarged in 1943 with Skinner parts and console; the 1959 work appears to have been contracted via Frank Wichlac. It is believed that the Pilcher was either Op. 692 or 693, both of which were originally installed in the Commandery Hall of the State Street Masonic Temple. -Database Manager

2021-11-20 - Kenneth Bade, who was organist & music director of the church for 37 years, designed the 1959 rebuild of the instrument. This would have been near the beginning of Mr. Bade's career as a noteworthy musician in that section of Illinois. The console was originally in a fixed position in the center of the chancel choir loft and in a "pit". The pipes are in chambers on either side of the choir. Decorative grilles allow the instrument to speak into the choir loft. There are no visible pipes and there are no grilles facing the congregation. The chancel platform has been remodeled in recent years. The console "pit" and choir railing have been removed and the entire rostrum was made one level except for choir seating. The organ console was set upon a movable platform allowing it to be placed anywhere within the chancel area. (Source: Obituary of Kenneth Bade & personal knowledge). -Timothy E. Conyers
