2014-05-22 - Updated through online information from Rodney J. Weed. -- Observations based on a personal visit to this closed Church on May 14, 2014. This Church was closed in 2000 and has since been purchased by three descendants of the original sellers of the property for use as a Catholic Church. The current owners are hoping to raise funds to restore the building including the organ.<br>From my visit it appears that the organ pipes and internal workings are largely from the original 1898 organ. The handle for pumping the organ before it was electrified is still in the organ chamber. The current console clearly looks like a 1920s era Wangerin console. However the much newer builder's label on the console says "United organ Company" which did not exist when Wangerin was in business. My guess is that Wangerin did the original electrification of this organ and at a later date United Organ made additions. Currently, if you turn on the organ there are multiple high-pitched ciphers, and so many pipes do not sound that it appears the wiring is shot and would need to be totally redone if anyone would want this organ to play again. As with most Catholic Churches there are few records to actually verify what has happened to this organ over the years. -Database Manager
