2011-07-13 - Updated through online information from Ronald Crowl. -- Original specification by Heinrich Fleischer. Organ was a donation, installed when the building was nearly finished. Rear gallery installation with no casework, which was to come later but never did. Pedal 16-ft. Principal forms the central section, exposed Great on the left; exposed Positiv on the right. Swell box to the rear of the Positv. Space left on the left-hand side behind the Great for Choir division; prepared for at console (several drawstops), but never installed. The Swell 8-ft. Gemshorn and 8-ft. Gemshorn Celeste play from this group of stops in the Swell enclosure. There are many prepared stops, including a Voix Celeste in the Swell, and a Fagot unit in the Swell to play at 16-ft. and 8-ft., and borrowed to the Pedal. There is also a preparation for a Pedal III-rk. Mixture. Chimes are prepared in the Great (never installed). In the early 1990s, Reuter area representative made several tonal alterations to the organ in consultation with the organist in order to make the sound less "fluty" and more flexible for choral accompaniment: the 8-ft. Great Principal was rescaled by two pipes to make it larger and richer, and the 4-ft. Octave and 2-ft. Fifteenth were revoiced and regulated. The original Great IV-rk. Fourniture was replaced with a new one of lesser scale and different breaks. The original Fourniture was stored in the organ with plans to use it for the Pedal III-rk. Mixture, though this was never done. The Swell 8-ft. Trompette was cleaned and regulated along with the Positiv 8-ft. Krummhorn. All stoppers in the Pedal 16-ft. Bourdon unit were releathered. The static regulator in the blower room was releathered and the systematic releathering of all regulators begun. There have been several plans to complete/update/enlarge/move the organ, but none have actually materialized beyond regular maintenance and tunings. -Database Manager
