2016-08-22 - Updated through online information from Steven Bartley.
The British magazine, English Mechanics & the World of Science, May 25, 1888 pg 282 gives a fairly detailed description of the Roosevelt organ and some details on its design, as well as a detailed specification.

In 1928-29, Lewis & Hitchcock was hired to move the Skinner organ from Grove Park Inn, Asheville, NC, to the gallery of 1st Presbyterian, Baltimore. Sun Paper article 10/28/1928 announces the dedication of this Skinner organ and also says that Diapasons from the Roosevelt organ were inserted into the Skinner organ. Lewis & Hitchock card file records support this and indicate that the entire Great Principal chorus was retained and possibly other ranks, which were part of the 19 additional ranks to the Skinner organ.

The Skinner organ, with Roosevelt pipes was scrapped in the early 1960s when Austin Organs installed a new 3 man instrument. The rest of the Roosevelt pipes were recycled in various early Lewis & Hitchcock installations. -Database Manager
