Notes

2006-01-01 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This organ was originally built for the old edifice of First Lutheran Church in Ellensburg. It was relocated to their new edifice, but proved to be inadequate. The Möller was relocated to St. Andrew's in 1991 when First Lutheran Church acquired a used E. W. Lane tracker. The Möller is one of that firm's "Portable" models. -Database Manager

NOTES
The organ was originally built for the old building of First Lutheran Church in Ellensburg.
The Möller was moved to the present building when it was first built, but it proved to be
inadequate in the larger space. Balcom and Vaughan of Seattle submitted two ideas for re-
building and enlarging the Möller in 1971. One proposal put the organ at 8 ranks and 536
pipes (5 new ranks and 317 new pipes). The other proposal put the organ at 9 ranks and 609
pipes (6 new ranks and 402 new pipes). No action was ever taken, and another 20 years would
pass before the organ was replaced.

The Möller was replaced by a used E.W. Lane tracker which was relocated from the Methodist
Church in Barton, Vermont through the efforts of the Organ Clearing House. The Lane was
restored by S.L. Huntington and Associates of Stonington, CT., and was installed in con-
junction with Heustis & Associates of Vancouver, B.C., who moved and reinstalled the Möller
at St. Andrew's Catholic Church of Ellensburg in 1991 where it replaced a previously re-
located 6-rank Möller.
