2023-02-10 - On December 17, 1924, J. Edward Krause signed a contract for Skinner Organ Company opus 509 for his residence on fashionable Coldspring Road. The $11,000.00 instrument was to be completed by May 1, 1925. Actual completion was on November 1. William E. Zeuch, vice president, signed for the builder. The instrument was a larger version of the Sullivan organ. Fifty rolls were provided for the player. Notes on the contract include "Voicing to be brighter than usual," and "W E Z[euch] says that this must be more like his father's organ [opus 424] in result . . . and that we ought to figure on 7½" press[ure]." Allen Kinzey and Sand Lawn's E.M. Skinner/Aeolian-Skinner Opus List notes that the organ was moved to the First Evangelical Church, Kendallville, Indiana. -- *2007 OHS Atlas* -Paul R. Marchesano
