2006-05-15 - Identified through information adapted from E. M. Skinner/Aeolian-Skinner Opus List, by Sand Lawn and Allen Kinzey (Organ Historical Society, 1997), and included here through the kind permission of Sand Lawn:
Replaced Skinner Opus 828, retaining 23 ranks. -Database Manager

2009-05-30 - Updated through online information from ERIC J GASTIER. -- THE ORGAN RETAINS 48 RANKS FROM SKINNER OP. 828, C. 1930 (NOT 23 RANKS AS NOTED IN THE SKINNER OPUS LIST). SWELL ONLY IS 73 NOTE [Chest] COMPASS -Database Manager

2011-07-08 - Updated through online information from Jeff Scofield. -- According to the church's website and Schantz's writeup in THE AMERICAN ORGANIST, 49 existing ranks were retained [from the Teller's 1959 rebuild], including 24 original Skinner stops; console rebuilt in 2002 by Fischer Organ Co., which also enabled the chapel organ to be played from the main console. -Database Manager

2012-12-18 - Updated through online information from Burton K. Tidwell. -- I was organist at First-Covenant from Jan. 1982 - Dece. 1986 and thus organist when the Schantz was installed in early 1983. I inspected the pipes to be reused thoroughly before the organ was removed and had input on site with James Madden and later with John Schantz regarding the precise use of existing ranks based on pipe construction and revoicing potential vs. the sound as voiced by Tellers. During that four year period, I supervised all work/tuning done to the organ.

There is some incorrect information above regarding old pipes in the organ. There are 23 complete Skinner ranks; the balance of used pipes are a combination of Skinner basses and pipes from the William Barnes/Tellers rebuild of the late 1950s. -Database Manager

2018-08-14 - Updated by David Ruler, who has heard or played the organ. -Database Manager
