2013-06-14 - Updated through online information from John B. Johnson. -- As with many Protestant congregations today, this church is struggling to remain a viable institution;therefore, funds for organ repair are hard to come by. I am the organist at Faith/Asbury United Methodist Church and have been the curator of this organ for the past 10 years. The organ's static reservoirs have been releathered and the original Spencer blower is being restored and reconditioned. There is still some releathering work to be done to correct water damage from a leaking roof. However, at present the entire organ is playable with the exception of the harp/celesta which is to be releathered. This organ is completely extant and has not been altered. It is still used in weekly services and is still played from its 1930 console. The original pneumatic combination action is still intact and operating. -Database Manager
