2007-09-18 - Updated through on-line information from James R. Stettner. -- Acccording to the "History" portion of the parish website, the organ was built in 1887, and cost $1,800.00. A boy from the parochial school was paid 5 cents to "tramp the bellows." In 1891, a suggestion was made to purchase a motor to operate the organ; however, this was not pursued. 1899 saw the decision to pay the custodian $20.00-per-year to pump the organ at all occasions when the organ was to be played. In 1903, the organ was repaired at a cost of $45.00. 1915, organ repaired and an electric blower finally installed for $300.00. 1952 saw the first consideration of the possibility of electrifying the organ. 1954, church decided to enlarge chancel. Cornerstone laid in 1955. New church and parish hall dedicated March 24, 1957. 1967, new organ fund started. April 1968, Lima Pipe Organ Co. removed the old organ. -Database Manager
