Notes

2006-05-16 - In 1912, Hutchings Organ Co. was awarded a $20,000 contract to replace the 1868 Odell organ with an entirely new organ having four manuals. -Database Manager

2022-12-05 - On May 25, 1919, the senior minister announced that the church's name would be changed from the Church of the Messiah (Unitarian) to the non-denominational Community Church of New York, later reverting back years later to Unitarian-Universalist; the Hutchings was destroyed by fire and replaced in 1924 by a 4/38 Fazakas; the building was demolished in 1930 and construction of a new building began in 1940; the congregation didn't have a new building until 1948 and a new organ until 1954, when a 3/31 Moller was installed. -Jeff Scofield
