Notes

2006-06-18 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This organ was originally contracted to be built for Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Prosser, Washington. It was one of Balcom and Vaughan's freestanding and encased "Positiv" organs with an attached, projecting keydesk. The church cancelled the contract, and the organ stood in the reception area awaiting a buyer. In 1966, it was purchased by Northgate Lutheran at a cost of $6,800.00 which included purchase, installation, and a $900.00 allowance on their existing model 20 Wurlitzer electronic organ and speaker. The organ was removed from its case, and was reinstalled with a new console. The pipes are located in a central chamber in the rear gallery. The console was placed on the left side (if facing the front) with the organist facing across the gallery. Northgate Lutheran later closed, and the building was sold to the Korean Presbyterian congregation. -Database Manager
