2006-10-17 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This organ was originally built for the Rialto Theatre in Tacoma, WA. It was a 3-man. Style 35 "Special" built as Op. 178 in 1918. A unique feature of this organ was that the Solo manual was only three octaves. In 1946 the organ was purchased by Ken Graves of Seattle and installed in his home. In 1958, it was donated to Haller Lake Methodist Church where it was installed by Balcom & Vaughan, who replaced the three octave Solo manual with a standard 61 note keyboard, and removed one rank from the organ. When Balcom & Vaughan sold a new instrument to the church in 1973, the Wurlitzer was sold to Bob Koons, who partially installed the organ in his home in Seattle, and then later installed many of the parts at Big Bob's Pipe Dream restaurant in Burien, Washingon (which he owned). -Database Manager
