2006-10-21 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This organ was originally in the home of Balcom and Vaughan President William J. Bunch back in Boston when he was a Vice President for Aeolian-Skinner. When he returned to Seattle to take over Balcom and Vaughan, the organ was moved and reinstalled in his Seattle residence. It was only around 6-or-so ranks back in the 1960's. The Swell, Great, duplexed Positiv, and Pedal were located in two chambers at the front of the room with the Great/Pedal on the right and Swell on the left. The Choral Great, Choral Positiv, and Choral Pedal were located in a single antiphonal chamber, and the console was placed in a small, floor-level gallery beneath this chamber. When the congregation disbanded around 1993, the building was sold to a Scientology congregation who did not want the organ. It was acquired by Balcom and Vaughn, and later rebuilt as a 2-manual instrument for First Baptist in Bellingham - replacing their electrified and rebuilt Kimball organ. -Database Manager
