An engraved plate on the left side of the Great keyslip states that 4 ranks were added in 1978. This is somewhat misleading since the present instrument has only 9 ranks total. A phone call to Charles W. Allen who represented the Wicks firm and installed the organ revealed that the rector of the church at the time the additions were made insisted on counting the Pedal 16' Contra Fagot as a separate rank. In reality, it is a 12-pipe extension of the Swell 8' Fagot, so only 3 ranks were added in 1978. The Great 8' Principal/4' Octave, 8' Holz Gedeckt, and 2' Flach Flöte form the visible, asymmetrical pipe display. The Great 8' Erzähler is enclosed with the Swell division and is extended to provide the 1' Sifflöte on the Swell – the top octave of which repeats. The Swell 2-2/3 Nasat is from the Rohr Flöte unit.
