2006-12-15 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This was the relocating of the Austin installed used in 1960 to the front of the room. A pedestal was built with a large platform on top. The Great, Choir, and Pedal were installed atop this pedestal - behind a wooden slat grille. The Swell was moved to the chamber immediately adjacent to the other divisions on the left wall. The chest was reduced in depth and modified with removable bottom boards - still retaining the original Austin action. The existing 2/5 Morton from the old church and still present at the front was made playable from the Austin console as the Solo division. Other new Möller ranks were added in place of existing ranks. -Database Manager

ACTION: Austin Universal E-P windchests Echo: Morton E-P unit chests Swell 2' Fifteenth: electro-mechanical VOICES: 35 STOPS: 56; inc. chimes RANKS: 35 PIPES: 2,108 NOTES The 1984 work involved several things: 1. The organ, previously installed used in 1960 in the rear gallery was moved to the front of the church atop a pedestal. 2. The Swell was placed in a former closet on the left wall of the chancel, and the original Austin chest was altered to have four legs, a regulator underneath, and removeable bottom boards - but still re- retaining the original Universal action. The original Vox Humana chest was converted to electro-mechanical with a removeable bottom board. 3. The console was relocated to the front and installed on the right side of the chancel beneath the Echo chamber grille. 4. The existing, used Robert Morton that had been installed in the old church and relocated to the present edifice was made playable on the Austin console from the Swell manual, and affected by all inter- and intra-manual Swell couplers. 5. Tonal changes were made to the Great, Swell, and Pedal as indicated in the stoplist above. The Pedal 16' Bombarde is enclosed inside the pedestal - beneath the Great and Choir. The new manual reed stops were built by Moller. The Morton chests were damaged by water due to a roof leak that developed during the winter of 1996-97. It was releathered in stages by Stettner Pipe Organs of Seattle, WA. between October 1997 and January 1998. [Received on line from James R. Stettner March 26, 2009.]
