2010-11-30 - Updated through online information from Alan Swartz. -- Roxy Grove Hall is a large recital hall seating about 500. The organ is technically in a chamber, but it is a single chamber that stretches nearly the width of the recital hall stage. Polished tin facade pipes adorn the chamber front wall, whose top is just out of reach from the stage. All pipework is visible, however. Behind the front facade pipes are a section of trebles arranged in a pyramidal shape, centered in the chamber left-to-right. Behind these are the pedal reed resonators in the center, and the two swell boxes in the rear corners of the chamber. It is a very open arrangement both visually and sonically. The console is fully movable on the stage, and at least in its original condition, had an electrical umbilical about three inches in diameter. The console can be stowed in the chamber, under the chests, through a set of double doors in the stage wall, clearing the stage for large ensemble performances. -Database Manager
