Notes

2007-01-28 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- The building was originally built as First Baptist, and that congregation ceased functions around 1997. The building was purchased by a Russian/Slavic Baptist congregation and became Pilgrim Slavic MB Baptist Church. The organ is still used, though it is in need of complete restoration. At present (2007) the Swell will not play. The Great and Choir share a common chamber in the front, right corner of the sanctuary. The Swell is in the front, left corner of the sanctuary. Both chambers have two grille openings on perpendicular walls: facing across the front of the church and into the santuary. The console is placed on the elevated choir dais on the left-hand side (beneath the Swell) with the organist facing the congregation. -Database Manager

2017-12-11 - Updated by Sean Haley, who maintains the organ. The organ has been the unfortunate victim of immense water damage due to a leaking roof and vandalism in the Swell chamber. Many pipes in the Swell, including the unique French Horn, are missing many pipes with several crushed and many damaged beyond economical repair. Fortunately the Great, Choir, and Pedal, being more difficult to access, are in more usable condition. Sadly the church sees little value in the instrument, having no organist, and has no intention for restoration or regular maintenance. The organ was prepared for an Echo division to be installed in a tower chamber at the back of the sanctuary. -Database Manager

2021-12-16 - Organ is currently under restoration. Used weekly. -Radislav

NOTES
The organ is installed in two chambers at the front of the church.
The Great and Choir share the right chamber, and the Swell occupies
the left chamber. The Pedal 16' First Open Diapason is in the Great/
Choir chamber and the Pedal 16' Bourdon is in the Swell chamber.

The console is located on the left side of the chancel platform
beneath the Swell chamber with the organist facing the congregation.

The Swell 8' Vox Humana has its own tremulant which is automatically
activated when the stop is registered. The unisons off are located on
the top, right side of each manual key cheek. The Echo division was
never added, but was intended to be played from the Great manual. The
switch located on the top, left side of the Swell keycheek would allow
the performer to select either Echo, Great, or both divisions to be played
from the middle manual.
