2007-03-01 - Identified through on-line information from James R. Stettner. -- The organ was originally built for the Columbia Theatre in Longview, WA. It was installed in 1924 by Sandy Balcom. In 1937, Balcom and Vaughan relocated the organ to Benson High School and added 15 straight ranks playable from tablets on the back rail. In 1970, the Portland chapter of the ATOS refurbished the organ with donated labor. Parts & materials were purchased by the school district. In 1990-91 the organ was relocated to Cleveland High School in Portland by Loren Minear of Salem, OR. -Database Manager
