2008-09-08 - Updated through on-line information from Jonathan Ortloff. -- The organ was awarded an OHS citation in 2007. The date (1937) is the completion date. Contract was signed in December 1936. The organ was completed in May, 1937. Though all the pipes and chests are intact, the console, blower, static regulators, and remote combination machine have been removed and are in safe storage. The organ was last played in the early 1990s. There was originally an elevator shaft for a console lift. An elevator was never installed, so the console sat on a permanent platform built into the shaft. I'm not sure where the 74 stops comes from. By my count, there are 66 stops, i.e. top boards. -Database Manager
