2017-03-01 - The Abraham Lincoln Center was established by All Souls' Church, the leading center of liberal life in Chicago at the turn of the 19th century; Rev. Jenkin Lloyd Jones commissioned his nephew, Frank Lloyd Wright, to design the building, which was Wright's first large commission. Jones and Wright couldn't agree on the exterior design, so that was finished by others; the interior is Wright's and was his exploration of ideas of space and light that he enlarged on with the Larkin Building in Buffalo, NY, and Unity Temple in Oak Park IL. -Database Manager
