Notes

2007-03-11 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- A letter in the archives of Balcom and Vaughan indicate that a pipe organ once existed at Cathedral of the Nativity. The letter, dated February 22, 1980, was addressed to a Ms. Danith D. Anderson who was a Research Analyst III from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor in Juneau. The topic of the letter concerned a new reservoir along with flanges and flange gaskets. These were shipped to the Cathedral in April, 1980. No mention is made of the builder of the organ. The new parts were to be installed by someone named Allan. This may have been J. Allan McKinnon - local Juneau resident and organist. According to an e-mail from Cathedral secretary Cece Lihou on March 9, 2007 - the organ was removed from the Cathedral sometime in the mid-1980s. -Database Manager
