Notes

2007-03-12 - Identified through information adapted from E. M. Skinner/Aeolian-Skinner Opus List, by Sand Lawn and Allen Kinzey (Organ Historical Society, 1997), and included here through the kind permission of Sand Lawn:
Retained console and two ranks of existing Austin, #781; Swell and portion of Pedal damaged by fire in 1984; rebuilt by Randy George. -Database Manager

2022-06-19 - The original 39 ranks of the Aeolian-Skinner were installed in the balcony under very unfavorable conditions. The balcony is 39'6" wide, but the opening into the nave is only 15'6" wide and 6'6" high. In addition, there was paneling in front of the organ which extended about three feet above the mouths of the pipes. The little Choir division was supported above the Great and Pedal. It was actually in the base of the steeple, around 7' above the ceiling of the nave and 11' above the balcony opening. The 1918 Austin console was reused. On June 26, 1984, the roof caught fire. Water from fighting the fire poured through the Swell division and the firefighters stomped on most of the pipes during containment - the division was ruined. The organ was removed, rebuilt, enlarged and reinstalled. -Jeff Scofield
