Notes

2007-03-19 - Identified through on-line information from James R. Stettner. -- This is a new organ that has as its basis a 2-manual, 5-rank unit organ originally built by Balcom and Vaughan in 1945 as their Opus 475 for the C. R. Strand residence in Tieton, WA. The Great is entirely new. The organ is fully-prepared for the addition of a 2-2/3' Quinte and 1-3/5' Tierce to the Great. Notes 1-19 of the 8' Principal are en fasçade. The Swell 8' Gedeckt is original as is the 8' Celeste. The 8' Gambe is original from bass EE and was rescaled 4 notes larger using B and V stock pipework. The Swell 1-1/3' Nasat was made from the original Dulciana. The Pedal 8' Principal/4' Octave is the original Open Diapason. The console shell, pedalboard, and manuals were retained, but new contacts were provided. All new stops actions, tablets, and solid state relay were provided. The "Choir Exp. Only" illuminated finger piston is located on the right side of the stoprail/nameboard. When activated, it disconnects the main expression shutters between the Great and the Swell, and only allows the expression shutters which open into the choir gallery to operate. The Service of Dedication and Recital was held on September 23, 1990. Joel Martinson was the organist for the occasion. -Database Manager
