2008-01-09 - Updated through online information from James R. Stettner. -- This organ was designed by Andover employee and Trinitarian organist Bradley Rule - who was the project manager. We referred to this organ as the "chicken coop organ" because the case had been in storage in a chicken coop before being rescued by Andover. The organ utilizes recycled parts from E. & G.G. Hook, Hook & Hastings, Wm. A. Johnson, Geo. S. Hutchings, Hutchings-Votey, and Wicks organs - as well as the unidentified builder of the Iowa instrument - plus new pipework/parts. The top 10 notes of the Swell 8' Trumpet have doubled open metal trebles (8' + 4'), and the top 7 notes of the Swell III Cornet is only 2 ranks (12-15; no Tierce). The project was begun in 1987 and completed in 1988. The organ was dedicated by its designer/builder and parish organist Bradley Rule on April 24, 1988. Organ documented in March, 1988. -Database Manager
