2009-06-26 - Updated through online information from DAN TALBOT. -- All prepared additions were installed by 1972 with the exception of the Antiphonal which never has been installed. A 32' Contra Fagatto was added to the organ in 1969. The chimes drawknob in the pedal was used for this addition. This was installed by George Babb and was from an organ supply company, not Casavant. The grill cloth was removed around 1998, so pipes are seen, though not completely visible unless lights are on in the chambers. A 10 2/3' was wired on the Pedal Violone and plays off the 2 [unmarked] Antiphonal Pedal Stops. Many famous organists have played this instrument. Frank and Genevieve Collins were students of Vierne and Dupre and were well known in the organ circle. The invited many guest organists to play both this instrument and the Kilgen instrument in the University Theater [no longer there]. The acoustical tile was removed back in the church remodel in 1998 and replaced with wood. Carpet was also removed from the choir/altar area and the original terrazzo floor restored. Carpet remains in the aisles only. This with the removal of the grill cloth makes this a wonderful instrument in a room seating about 450 people. -Database Manager
