2008-01-27 - Updated through information posted to Pipechat by Bart Agar -- The organ was designed by Prof. John Wright Harvey at the UW Madison School of Music. He was my teacher. The tonal design was done by Lawrence Phelps. This was his first instrument for the Casavant firm. De Pere is a small city four miles south of Green Bay, on the Fox river. ... The Abbey church itself is a fairly large stone building with stunning acoustics. On a humid day the reverb gets up to 5 seconds at least. The organ speaks down the entire length of the building. -Database Manager
