2020-09-16 - The Moller/Balcom and Vaughan pipe organ was honorably retired after more than a century of service in the First Presbyterian Church, McMinnville, Oregon. Its final performance was the Postlude to the worship service on November 3, 2019. The pipe organ was in need of ongoing extensive and expensive repairs, which were expected to continue, and was replaced with a 2 Manual Rodgers Digital Electronic Organ (Artist Model 579) in December 2019. All organ pipes will remain in place for future potential connection to the new organ. The pipe organ is being honored by preserving many of its parts in tribute to the many years of service and to its many organists, who are described in church history files. -Lynn Foster, Worship and Music Elder, First Presbyterian Church, McMinnville, Oregon
