2022-03-01 - Estey Opus 71 was electrified with a new Organ Supply console by Fred H. Meunier in the late 1930's. In addition, an 8' Vox Humana, and a set of Chimes were added at that time. The organ was sold to the Third Christian Reformed Church in Denver, CO, when the Methodist church bought a new Reuter organ in the 1950's. The Estey was used until ca. 1995, when it was replaced by an electronic. The Estey was removed and parted out. Some of the pipework, which was of very high quality, was sold to other builders. Several stops were used in rebuilds by Morel & Associates. The Pedal 16' Open Wood stop was installed with new windchests at First Congregational Church in Colorado Springs. This stop replaced an inferior 16' Open Wood that had replaced the original Hook & Hastings Open Wood in a previous rebuild. -Rick Morel
