2024-06-24 - "Carnegie Organ to Sayre Church Special to The Inquirer. SCRANTON, Pa., Jan. 25.--Rev. Charles A. Benjamin, of the Asbury M.E. Church, this city, to-day announced from his pulpit that Andrew Carnegie had donated a new pipe organ to the Methodist Episcopal Church at Sayre, Pa. While Mr. Benjamin was pastor Sayre church he wrote Carnegie, requesting the donation. Nothing was heard from Mr. Carnegie, and it was thought that the request had been disregarded."
