2010-01-17 - Updated through on-line information from Chad Boorsma. -- The Women's Society of the church asked for a donation from Andrew Carnegie to help purchase the organ. He responded with a gift of $1,000 towards the total price of $2,250. The church became known as St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in 1934, and as St. John's United Church of Christ in 1957. At some point the Estey organ was replaced with a Kilgen instrument. -Database Manager
