Notes

2007-08-27 - Identified through online information from Stephen Hall. -- This organ was built by Pels (prior to becoming Pels & van Leeuwen) for the First Baptist Church of Orlando when it was located downtown. In 1985, the congregation moved to a new campus, and the old building became the home of Downtown Baptist Church. This organ was sold with the building to the new congregation. The Antiphonal division was removed in the 1990s due to water damage from a roof leak; Rodgers organ provided a new console with digital voices to supplement the existing pipe work. The organ is in regular use for services. -Database Manager

2013-08-05 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Updated by Jeff Scofield, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- 300 members of First Baptist Church stayed behind when that congregation moved to its vast new facility outside of downtown in 1985; the downtown facility was renamed Downtown Baptist Church; the organ later received a new 4-manual Rodgers console and digital additions and the water-damaged Antiphonal was disconnected. -Database Manager
