2007-09-19 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- The 1955 date is likely the contract date. According to the church's website, the organ was installed in the summer of 1957. It was a gift and is known as the Kate Vanderburgh Ashwell Memorial Organ. The new organ was blessed, dedicated, and used for the first time at a regular church service on September 8, 1957. The dedicatory recital was given on October 7, 1957 by Vernon de Tar. In 1985, between January 2 and mid-May, the organ was releathered by Paul Fischer of Erie, PA. No tonal changes occurred at this time. 1990 saw the addition of a new Great stop: an 8' Trumpet. And in 1992, a 32' Bourdon was added to the Pedal with notes 1-12 being electronic. In 1996, the Fischer Organ Co. of Erie, Pennsylvania replaced all console and switch-stack pneumatic functions with solid state. In 1999, three originally prepared-for stops were added to the organ: Great 8' Gemshorn, Choir 4' Rohr Schalmei, and Pedal 32' Bombarde. Since there was no room for pipes, these are electronic registers. The organ presently has 46 speaking stops (inc. percussions: chimes, tower bells, zimbelstern, & glockenstern) and 2,159 pipes. -Database Manager

2014-07-29 - Updated through online information from Scot Huntington. -- From verbal information given me by the organist of the church in 1972, circa 1970, the pipework of the Great Principal chorus, which is installed on an exposed, cantilevered chest in front of the organ chamber, was replaced by the Delaware Organ Co. of North Tonawanda, New York. -Database Manager
