Notes

2007-09-21 - Identified by James R. Stettner through information from the Estey Opus List, published in The Boston Organ Club newsletter, 1973-1979. -Database Manager

2022-07-10 - Building no longer exists, though the site is still run by a legacy organization rooted in the Protectory of Mary. Mary Immaculate Health/Care Services was established by the Sisters of Charity of Montreal, “Grey Nuns” in 1868. At the request of a local priest, five Grey Nuns came to Lawrence to operate a home for orphans and “sick young girls of the mills”. Over the years, Mary Immaculate’s services have evolved and a number of care homes exist in Lawrence, including on on the Maple St. site where the Protectory of Mary Immaculate existed. -Andrew Scanlon
