2007-09-27 - Identified through on-line information from James R. Stettner. -- This was a restoration of the church's existing 1856 Simmons & Fisher organ. The manual chests were rebuilt. The manual keyboards were restored. The manual action was refurbished. A replacement, 19th-century pedalboard replaced the poor quality, non-original pedalboard, and the pedal coupler mechanism was extended throughout the compass. Pipework was cleaned and restored to its original voicing. The organ was rededicated on Sunday, November 25, 1978 with guest recitalist Harold Knight, then of Grace Episcopal Church in Salem, Massachusetts. -Database Manager
