2020-10-12 - The 1922 Estey that was originally in the old church was moved to the new 1960s building, into spacious chambers. This writer worked for the technician who had been servicing the instrument. The church fell under the blandishments of a digital organ salesman (Allen) and was convinced to buy a medium-sized two-manual instrument from them. The pipe technician convinced them to also buy a pipe interface so they could play at least some of the original Estey, which had been upgraded not too far in the distant past. They bought an interface which is presently playing 4 stops of the Estey. This writer assisted the pipe technician in making the modifications to some of the Estey chest work (conversion to electro-mechanical (DE) valves), and then wired the pipes into the Allen interface unit. As of this writing, I think the organ is still functioning in this setup. -Mark Caldwell
