Notes

2007-09-29 - Identified by James R. Stettner through information from the Estey Opus List, published in The Boston Organ Club newsletter, 1973-1979. -Database Manager

2020-10-22 - Updated through online information from William Dunklin. -- American Organist Magazine for November 1922 lists the organ dedication played by Marshall Bidwell on October 8. It lists the Estey organ as "3-27" which at the time frequently indicated 27 stops rather than ranks. -Thurlow B. Weed

2020-10-22 - On 28 February 1922 the church - a brand new building - was completely destroyed by fire, which included the loss of the brand new pipe organ (Estey Opus 1900, OHS ID#29042). In five months' time a new church had been built with a new Estey pipe organ installed. From the Cedar Rapids Gazette of 28 September 1922, page 2: "Last March the church was gutted by fire. Today a more complete structure has taken the place of the one destroyed ... There is very little lacking in the furnishing of all the departments. The pipe organ is in place and ready for use." -Thurlow B. Weed

2022-10-11 - A 3-manual Rodgers has either replaced or been combined with the Estey. -Jeff Scofield
