2012-06-25 - Updated through online information from Randell Franklyn Busby. -- Built in 1927 by Kimball Piano and Organ Company, the pipe organ of Roxy`s Pipe Organ Theatre was originally created to accompany silent films in the famed Roxy Theater in New York City. The only theatre organ ever built to present three consoles controlling the same sets of pipes in a single auditorium, this instrument has entertained millions for almost 90 years. Removed from the Roxy Theatre when the building and contents were razed (for a parking lot) in 1955, the pipe organ was then installed and played for 15 years at the Classic Hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Following a complete restoration, the two-story pipe organ of Roxy`s Pipe Organ Pizzeria was relocated to the Fiesta Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas with 29 ranks of pipes and a 60-horsepower turbine for the wind supply. The organ features nearly every musical instrument available, from trumpets to French horns, to bird whistles and drums. -Database Manager
