2010-04-02 - Updated through on-line information from John Gill. -- I was the organist/choir director at this church for 12 years. Organ was rebuilt by Dan Garland in 1986, adding a principal chorus and other upper work. Most original pipework was retained, and the organ still retains much of its original robust, Romantic character. A new three-manual console was also added at this time. -Database Manager

2010-12-19 - Updated through on-line information from T. Bradford Willis, DDS. -- The text for the Official Texas Historical Marker is: " Grace United Methodist Church - This congregation has grown from two earlier fellowships. In 1868 Joshua Addington started a Sunday School, the beginning of the Dallas City Mission. Later the Mission formed Floyd Street Church and in 1880 Haskell Avenue Church was organized. At the North Texas Annual Conference in 1902, the two congregations merged to form Grace Methodist Church. A temporary tabernacle was erected on the back of this lot. In 1903 the first portion of this structure was completed. After remodeling in 1925, the educational unit was added. " -Database Manager
